Undying Light Through the Grey 🍁 This artwork is a story of its own. When God made Kashmir, He beautified it with the best of nature, the chilling canals lined with beds of flowers, the snow caps, the juicy fruits and nuts, the floral meadows, the beautiful people enriched with hospitality, yet all is lost in the darkness that has engulfed it. The Kashmiri Chinar is part of our heritage and a dying legacy that is in urgent need to be saved. In my art piece, I tried to depict how the radiant red Chinar leaf encompassing all the cultural heritage of Kashmir is the undying light through the grey, sadistic times that have now prevailed. I’m proud to be an Indian and honored to have such cultural diversity in my country, indeed Kashmir is our pride. So, on the 73rd Independence Day let us vow for a brighter sun shining over our country’s diadem.✨ Uzma Firdous Cost of the painting is 40,000 rupees / 534.72 dollars / 408.24 pounds Size - 49 inches by 43 inches ( 4.5 inch royal wooden frame)

There are three different seasons exquisitely merged together in a single a single painting. The first depicts the Kasmiris traveling through the gray journey of life with the sweetness of the Chinar mellowing the sorrows.

The second picture is the depiction of journeys of the simple folk rowing through the seas of sorrow amid the underlying light of hope bursting through in seasons of spring flowers with the shadow of the Chinar gently protecting.

The third picture depicts celebration of joys dipped in gray sorrow with bursting ruby flames of the Chinar trees landscaping the beautiful valley.

Uzma Firdous is a unique painter illustrating stories of the history of Kashmir in a very mystic antique charm that enchantingly captures the imagination. Her paintings are treasures and need to be preserved historically by the Government of Kashmir for each painting tells a powerful story and is a brilliant masterpiece.
