Trust in Him

Sometimes ,especially if things look very dark and you feel your own self sliding, it is very hard to trust God. We often try to be tough to survive in a hard world and build up our own defenses, walls, and human arm of strength, which in time can become frail and weak. This world is passing. We cannot depend on its solidarity because nothing in the material world lasts forever, nor fame, nor success, nor money, nor strength, nor mortal life.

However the Bible teaches us to trust in the Lord and acknowledge Him, not leaning on our understanding and our paths will become straight, leading us finally to the Highway of Heaven a sure-way for eternal life, which lasts forever and our guarantee!

How do we trust Him practically? Here are a few steps:

  1. Surrender yourself to Him each day, your plans, purposes, will. When our ego and self life is surrendered, this is the first practical step you are taking towards trust. Then the Holy Spirit is enabled in our lives to take over. Put Him first above all and things will start to change.

  2. Pray to Him, cry to Him, talk to Him about your problems. When you trust someone, you share your problems with them. When we trust God, we pour out our heart before Him, the Holy Spirit our Comforter will give us strength in that situation.

  3. Take the path of humility laded with the fruits of the Spirit each day. It takes trust in God to keep us wearing the cloak of humility. Pride is always from the seed of ego being exalted and lack of a trust in God. Humility keeps us clean, and it is easier for God to work in and through us and our situations. Examine our hearts, if we see pride, surrender, let it go and ask for forgiveness if needed.

In making these daily decisions, crooked twisted paths will start to straighten. God’s glory, purposes, plans will shine through our lives and establish us solidly in new ways. We will start to see direction and purpose in our lives.

In the midst of turmoil, God walks close to us. He uses challenges and tough times to speak to us, get our attention, mold, make and shape us. When we understand this, our human limited perspective widens and sharpens. Now, we see the setback as wonderful divine opportunities and moments that Christ works in. No longer do we see our setbacks as failures but stepping stones.

This is why we can trust in the Lord with all our hearts. He loves us deeply, watching over us, and protecting us, delivering us and directing our pathway, leading us forward to the blessed green pastures, places of blessing and abundance.
