When the night is the darkest, Jesus will see you through!
It is the night of the storm.. thick, black and overpowering, infused with waves of fear that we are about to sink. Lonely isles stand in raging frothing oceans while the wind whistles eerily in that dark storm. That black night suffocates our hearts, while thick curtains drape across the sky to snuff out every ray of light and hope. In that dark night, we hear the sound of banshee screams through the wind, while our battered ship nearly dashes into a jagged monstrous rock.
Then suddenly, a bright light blazes across the sea, sending waves of hope to us, the sinker. As we turn towards that light, we know it is a fortress for it is a lighthouse. We know there is safety as we row towards the lighthouse. Help is on the way is the warm signal that lights our brain.
Jesus is like that lighthouse in the dark nights of our lives. He shines out to us across swirling dark seas. As we are tossed in storms, by the enemy of the light, Jesus draws us to Himself mysteriously rising out on that storm, steering us to Himself. We reach the Lighthouse and remain until the storm passes and then the Holy Spirit draws us out again, as Christ opens the Lighthouse door to take us on new calm safe routes. So in each storm in life, whether a storm in a teacup or a wild storm crashing on lonely isles far off, know that the Light from the Lighthouse will blaze through for when the night is the darkest, Jesus will see you through!
Secrets about the Lighthouse
When life is the darkest, if we focus on the darkness, it draws us in and consumes us. If we are going through a bad season and all we look at is the horrible events we are going through, we will get swirled into that darkness in a terrible way. Also if we keep focusing on cruel world events, we are impacted very negatively to destroy our souls. Humanity is not designed to know every terrible thing going on all the time in the world. Suppose I got information of every heinous act going on in my city tonight, I would have a nervous breakdown. Our soul is not designed to know too much because we cannot handle the intensity of information.
Too much information is destroying us, and today, a lot of fake information too is going around. It changes us to soak in more negativity and hatred. While awareness is necessary so we can pray, we are not to be submerged in evil reports going on today, but we are turn to Christ and focus on Him, His promises, His wonders, and commune with the Holy Spirit. This is our deliverance, this is our fortress – in the Lighthouse!
As the night gets darker, the lighthouse shines brighter. In our darkest time, we see the light. Strangely enough, at other good times, we rarely see the light. Does this mean we have to go through dark nights to see the light? If we have an abiding relation with Christ, the dark storms would not approach us on this journey of life; however, humans forget every easily. When we are constantly sailing through smooth waters, we become complacent, compromised, and cold. So very often, a dark storm highlights the great Light, and we run to Him and get a renewed relationship with Him.
We will find that as we turn towards the Lighthouse, this fortress keeps us safe and protected. While we remain in His presence, we receive the anointing because CHRIST’S PRESENCE MEANS ANOINTING. In His presence/anointing, the secret wonderful hiding place, we receive divine reversals for our situations. We come out of the Lighthouse transformed, anointed, and powerful in His presence, and our situation transforms for He reveals to us that He is the God of redemption. He takes our storms and turns it into a beautiful calm. Remember for the storm: This too shall pass!
Psalm 107:19: Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and He delivered them from their distress.
Proverbs 18:10 The Lord is like a strong tower, where the righteous can go and be safe.
Matthew 14:22-33 Jesus Walks on the Water
22 Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd. 23 After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. Later that night, he was there alone, 24 and the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it.
25 Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. 26 When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear.
27 But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”
28 “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”
29 “Come,” He said.
Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”
31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”
