Paul tells us to make no provision for the flesh and take every thought captive to the obedience in Christ. As we know, it is the mind where all wicked plans are hatched. Passivity and inactivity in the mind are sure ways to get defeated and get overtaken by our weaknesses. James 4:7 tells us to submit to God, resist the devil and he will flee from you.
In active resistance, there are three things we can do to submit to Christ and resist the devil:
Submit to God. Put on the Heavenly Armor daily, walk in the Belt of Truth, Helmet of Salvation, Breastplate of Righteousness, Shield of Faith and Shoes of the Gospel, sharing good news. This is your armor. Cover yourself by faith with the Blood of Jesus. The Blood of Jesus establishing our legal rights in the spiritual world. The demons see the Blood and flee. I will share more about the Blood next week. We have seen our lives change and evil depart when we claim the Blood over us. The devil wants to dilute this spiritual principle so there are people who fight with us about this, but it is very much established in the Bible.
Now rebuke the demons and the devil. Rebuke the sin that is hovering over you, you can sense its approach. Be it lust, anger, jealousy, envy, gossip, revenge, you know! When that weakness seems to be overtaking you, rebuke that sin, which has its attachments to demons and rebuke the devil, demons. Under the Blood of Christ, you have the rights to rebuke. . Cast down his traps set against you.
Take the Word of God and read victory verses aloud.
These three practical steps will help to establish a daily roadway to victory against the insidious pathway to weakness and sin, which is aimed at your downfall. No, rise up in victory and take your rightful place.
