September 5 – Our Times are In His Hands

Isaiah 14:27 says, “What the Lord has purposed, who can annul?”

God has a purpose for your life. He’s already planned out your days.  He even plans our unexpected intrusions!  When you’re on a detour, don’t get upset or frustrated, it is just one scene in your life. When it all comes together, it’s going to work out for beauty and good.

Time management stalks the world today. While managing time is important, can reduce stress levels and helps us to stay on top of things, we have developed a hostility to any intrusions in our time management schedules.

Someone knocks on our door and we may feel our world shatter as that little knock broke our well-planned schedule into pieces!  When the phone rings out of our well-ordered schedule, we might grind our teeth, irritated at that ring and the person behind it.

Whenever we got resentful of an intrusion, our stress levels are high and we are miserable…

The danger zone is this – when we think we are in control of everything, and are obsessed with Time Management, we start walking in our own plan and unknowingly brush away the best God has for us sent by someone or some event.  While it is good to plan things out, being obsessed with our own plans and following it to the point of cutting out people and situations that might be sent by God can turn out perilously hazardous for us.

Let’s learn from Jesus the One who existed before Time and beyond Time.  He always welcomed intrusions and never chased anyone away!

There is a secret blessing when we take intrusions as sent by God to bless us.  Then, we will be enriched in a deeper way.

When we understand that our times are in His hands, we submit to Him in a daily surrender, and if God sends an interruption, we recognize His hand in it and respond according to His will.  We are blessed in our intrusions when God in a mysterious way actually brings intrusions to us.  So, go with the flow as in a river and you will receive wonderful surprises along the way!
