September 10 – One of These Days
Proverbs 3:27: Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act.
Have you ever had regrets of wanting to do something, and kept shelving it until it gathered dust, or until you had no opportunity to do it again, or make it right because Time alluded you? Opportunities are golden moments in Time sent by God and if we don’t grasp them by the spirit, we lose a lot in the offing. I learn this the hard way and sharing this with you.
God gives us opportunities to do good for others, maybe to be praying for them, giving them something, sending them money, or calling them up or visiting them, but if we are slow to pick it up, we would have lost something precious in time. and they would have lost something too, which might have been a bigger blessing for them and for us in turn. Lost chances are lost blessings.
Tomorrow does not wait, and what we do with our time has to be fruitful. The Bible tells us to redeem the time. We do not know how long we have each other here on earth, so we treat each other the same way, in light of eternity, with respect and love. We have to move in God’s action plan always. If we keep waiting to do something, Time flows on like a waterfall to come cascading down its stream without control, rushing down furiously. If we do not act in time, things have a way of reacting and acting and finally, there comes a time when we cannot do anything about it, it is out of our grip. So it is wisest to act when it is in your hand to do so. God will bless your action.
God prompts us very often, nudges us to do things and these are golden moments in time. If we listen to those promptings, thoughts He puts in us, we are enacting in those golden moments of opportunities to enlarge our coast and increase our territories. However, if we keep closing our doors, not acting and procrastinating, the enemy takes over our empty spaces of time and causes reactions and actions that are destructive and fruitless. So let us be wise and act on the promptings of the Holy Spirit.
Never live in the drawling drag of One of These Days, but rather live in God’s moments of golden opportunities in His action plan working in His eternal good.
