October 16 – Add Value to Each Soul
Philippians 2:3-4: Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, 4 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.
If we stream through the Internet, more often we see rage and anger than kindness and sweetness. Sometimes, when we post about love, many people wonder if we are impractical freaks or aliens! We see people abusing one another without shame and rancor. I wonder what would happen if they came face to face! The reason we can hit out at each other so easily is because we lost honor for others and for ourselves. In that lost honor, we spurn other humans without a thought. If we truly belong to the true Living Creator, we will start to lean to hold in esteem all humans, simply because the Creator made them.
Of course, I don’t mean honoring a murderer or rapist walking backwards, but at least recognize that God made them too and perhaps we can lend a few prayers for them to change. It is possible that people do change.
History proves to us that prayers for others does transform and change things. Repentance means positive change of mind to rise to something better. Such change can come. Prayer is one of the best gifts, besides practical doing for others.
Pray for one another, commands the Holy Book. All in all, if we are so focused on the wrongs and shortcomings in others, we will end up in a volley of hate speech and our perspectives become very puny and we will never rise to any level in life.
The same goes for families, political parties etc.! We demand so much from each other, that we start judging each other, find fault with one another and complain 24/7. If we want change, stop, pray, and then esteem others
Some of the things we can practically do to prevent ourselves getting into those diabolic spats are:
Start to esteem value yourself as a creation of God. Ask the Holy Spirit to show you because you need a divine revelation. Know who you are in the image of God. Know you are a precious child of God. Let Him heal all wounds in your soul, that make you so angry (if you are!)
Think of responsibility…and think of our response to the world we are in. If we realize that we actually need to invest and pour into others, we will stop demanding our own gratifications. Think…we are made for a purpose. We share the Light, Love and Truth of God. We help others and deliver them because the Creator God gives us that divine compassion.
We also show that Love, Light, and Truth more so to our families and friends, and companions, colleagues who many times we take for granted.
Start to pray for others. The minute you do, your perspective will enlarge and God will bless you because you are esteeming them, who He made in His image. The Bible says, Love your neighbor as yourself!
