May 26 Pure and Whiter Than Snow

Psalms 51:2:  Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, And cleanse me from my sin.

David began his confession by asking God to cleanse him of his sin. He admits that he had sinned against God and acknowledges his weakness.  He then asks God to purge Him and cleanses him as white as snow.  He says, “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit in me.”

Acknowledgement of something wrong is the most powerful way to begin.  We see war crimes, crimes in political parties, crimes in families where they hide their sin, whitewash their wrongs and pretend it never happened.  This is the most dangerous thing to do.  If we cover sin, the putrid nature of sin will rot below false coverings.  Those sins will stink, and pollute not only that person, but the people around them.  They will go further to hurt a community and as far as a nation.

Hidden unconfessed sin is the worst thing.  Start by confessing to God, and apologize to the ones involved if it is possible.  Make it up to them, take a step of peace forward to them.  If there is something that you cannot say, then make amends with them differently.   Once we start to confess our sins, inward renewal and healing starts to take place.  God starts to restore the “joy of salvation” to the ones who know Him.  To the ones who do not, He is now free to work in them to draw them to Himself in a new wave of supernatural action because our spirits are clearer due to confession.

After a person confesses his or her wrongs, they are free!

Remember, God does not want our rituals and traditions, He is sick of them.  He wants clean hearts, clean hands with no murder, stealing or corruption or lies.  He wants honest people.  Those who operate this way will truly see God.  God’s favor shines on them.  A king who operates this way is the hero of the nation.   Proverbs 29:4:  By justice a king gives a country stability, but those who are greedy for bribes tear it down.

in 1 John 1:9, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”  Today may we live tender hearted and confessed up to date daily.  You are never too weak if you say sorry, in fact, it would make you a greater person because humility is the power of humans.
