March 30 – The Greatest Force Ruling the World Today Is…
I asked a few people what the greatest force ruling the world today, and here were some answers, some said, the devil, some said, “Illuminati!” some said :money” some said power and politicians and the list went on. However, this is not the greatest force ruling today. In fact, what is ruling today is the root of the problems.
I quote by an unknown: ““Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one’s courage.” “Fear defeats more people than any other one thing in the world.” “Fear is pain arising from the anticipation of evil.” “Do the thing you fear to do and keep on doing it… that is the quickest and surest way ever yet discovered to conquer fear.”
Fear is not a clean force, very deceptive and negative and out of it spins ugly yarns, devious decisions, and violent plots.
Herman Melville “Ignorance is the parent of fear.” This reality hit us during the COVID-19 crisis when some people in India panic when they see people from the North East. The root of this fear is sheer ignorance.
Here are the fears in the present world:
The Hindus fear Christian conversions. The Hindus fear Islamic rule over the world. The Islamists’ fear racism against them. The Islamists’ also fear terrorists too. The Christians fear Hindu suppression and violence. The Christians fear Islamist’s persecution. The Eastern countries fear Western domination over the East The politicians fear of losing their seats The world dictators fear of losing control.
When fear is the driving force behind people, it causes them to become violent to the ones they fear. Ironically, they victimize the ones they fear.
Suppression is the tool they use to subjugate their victims. The poor victims never realize the root of this persecution is fear.
Today, once again, the world battles against COVID-19 and fear is rising everywhere. Amidst that fear is the blame game of the world blaming the Chinese, and China has hinted American soldiers bringing the virus to China, so conspiracy theories rise. A lab tested the virus not being biologically engineered, so we have to conclude it came from bats and certain food habits. All and all, this is not the time to blame and hate each other. We just cannot do that now. Hate is weakening the world and bringing in the vibes of negativity.
Let’s make a decision to stop.
The antidote of hate is love.
The greatest force is Love. Love mysteriously transforms the world. While we think Love is a weak compromising emotion, the opposite is true. Love is a positive force that overcomes fear. Every religion teaches us to be good and kind to each other. While practicing my faith, I am motivated by some of these guiding principles: Christianity says that unless we love, with God’s Love, called Agape Love, the highest form of Love, we are nothing. Some of the practical things about love is first accepting ourselves being of worth and value. People with inferiority complexes are often unkind to others. If we know our worth, we would lose fear, enabling us to be kind and inclusive. TThe concept of forgiveness actually sets us free from the chains of revenge and hatred. A forgiver is always governed by peace and positivity. To quote Albert Einstein, “Weak people revenge. Strong people forgive. Intelligent people ignore.” Gandhi said, “An eye for an eye will turn the world blind.”
Hatred and unforgiveness erodes into bones and medically have been found to cause diseases such as arthritis, and affects our blood vessels, causing heart problems in many cases. We are losing our lives by living in the frequency of hate. Let us choose to live by the Law of Love which creates a new powerful equation, which destroys negative forces!
Acceptability infuses us with greater responsibility and accountability to the people we live with. It is a greater challenge to be kind to all people, but we reap greater dividends of joy and blessing. Kindness is a key that opens a glorious avenue of possibilities.
In a world angled diametrically with polarization of hate versus love and left versus right, our sharp angles pierce deep to hurt each other. We need to learn the art of drawing from our differences, learn to honor each other, and learn from each other in spite of our differences. Our spiritual faith is integral to our lives and we carry it within our souls and no one can take it away unless we voluntarily give it up. However, in our diversities, we have to reach a golden ground in the middle where we can meet together, talk together, discuss things together, help each other, laugh and cry together, build ideas and form plans for the nation. This will not be possible if we keep hurling mud on each other.
In every religion, there will always be a few fanatical figures who will make radical statements, but this does not reflect the whole community or ethos of that religion and we need to understand it. I hope we realize that life is not forever and we cannot hold on to our earthly identities, views, land, and properties and we need to get a grip of things in order to unite in harmony to make a better world for all.
In order to unite:
We need to stop blaming each other all the time. The blame game is a vicious cycle and it never ends. A nation can never progress if it spins itself in a yarn of blame games.
We have to let go to let grow: This calls for forgiveness of the past wrongs. It would call for inner healing and deeper reflections.
We would need to try to understand why the other is so upset in an objective way. Objectivity kills subjective fear and hate.
The crux of the vein of humanity is this: Today if a tragedy were to occur from an outside force, all country citizens, (Indians) would join hands and help each other. We have seen this happen in the past. Why wait for a worse catastrophe when we can join hands now!
