March 19 – Be Strong
Matthew 5:10: Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.
. Persecution is rising. In times like this, we have to let the inner workings of the Holy Spirit take firmer ground. Submit to Him at all times, keep up a communion talk and walk. Remember, we are not members of the world system but living souls in the Kingdom of Heaven. So while things happen on Earth, may we keep our focus on a communion walk with the Holy Spirit who gives us peace and strength.
Haile Selassie, Crown Prince and Regent of the Ethiopian Empire from 1916 to 1928, said, “We must become bigger than we have been: more courageous, greater in spirit, larger in outlook. We must become members of a new race, overcoming petty prejudice, owing our ultimate allegiance not to nations but to our fellow men within the human community.”
We will have peace despite persecution. Live in the law of love and God will be strong for you. Nothing will happen to you which you cannot handle. Read Matthew 5 and let the Holy Spirit comfort and strengthen you. In times of persecution, we will rejoice, as the apostles who were imprisoned and rejoiced that “they were counted worthy to suffer shame for His name.” Acts 5:41
In times of persecution, pray, pray and pray, Luke 6:12 One of those days Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray, and spent the night praying. Jesus in His humanity as He forfeit His Divinity for the time He was on Earth. He subjected Himself to the same persecutions as us.
The Bible tells us to maintain a pure heart through these times. He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to what is false and does not swear deceitfully, Psalm 24:4, such will be rewarded. Your rewards will be peace, joy, love, and also the knowledge that if you die, you will go to the Kingdom of Heaven where the greatest joys and peace will await you, where you will meet Christ, the angels, and saints of Heaven, reconciled with all your loved ones on Earth.
