June 5 – Shattered Dreams Anew
Ezekiel 36:26-27: A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.
This is a short testimony of a lady called Heather. She was a single mother, and felt the torment of the devil over her life and family, tearing them apart. Her brother finally took his own life, and she fell into depression at the age of 26, depressed, hopeless, alone, stayed in bed, gained over 50 pounds, lost her job, and friends etc. One day, her daughter’s father wanted to meet them. He told her he was clean from drugs and alcohol for two years. Surprised, she met him.
He then told her how Jesus changed his life. He was now a minister of God’s word and did great works for Jesus. She decided to let him see his daughter, it was Easter weekend and he suggested that they meet at his church, so to church they went.
She felt the presence of Jesus in the church and was interested, so prayed for her salvation. One night, the Spirit of the Lord touched her mightily, and she felt a fire rush through her body, and come into her heart. She was filled with love and joy. She then saw a vision of Jesus and saw His eyes filled with humor and love. Later, she gave her testimony in church. She felt a big breakthrough in their family from that time on, she loved going to church, got a new job, lost 20 pounds, and her depression left her.
Only God can give us a new heart. All we need to do is surrender unto Him. Christ, died on the Cross for our sins so that we could have an exchanged life. For our sins, He gives us a new heart, for our sorrow, He gives us joy, for our pain, He heals us.
So when we feel hopeless, know the God created the world with a new beginning. Before the world was created, the universe hung in swirling dark gases, angry waters, chaos and confusion. Then God spoke Life, and the universe was created.
In the new covenant, Christ makes us a new creature, and gives us a new heart, new mind, new thoughts, new understanding, new insight.
Surrender to the Lord and experience the wonders of this new life in Christ, new heart, new mind and with this new beginning, shattered dreams come anew through His divine will and purposes stamping it with His signature!
