June 4 –God Guides Our Spiritual Path
Jeremiah 29:11: For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
God knows His children and plans their steps in such a way that they find Him and then they start walking His way. Here is an extraordinary testimony of how a man found Christ. His name is Mohd. Saleem, born in a wealthy family in Pakistan, but when he was a few months old, he was carried to Saudi Arabia by his father. His mom passed away when he was six. He grew up having many questions about God, studied the Quran and Hadiths, and was taught that Islam is the only way to Heaven. He became an extremist for Islam. However, on studying the prophets in the Quran and Hadiths, Jesus Christ was the only personality that really touched him more than any others. He started searching for Jesus Christ more and more. He had a Christian friend who used to study with him and one day asked him for his Bible. He was surprised and said “Sorry, you cannot have it.” He assured him no one would ever know, but soon his father came to know that he read the Bible as it was in their home. He was very angry as he knew he had only one Christian friend. So he took him with his uncle to this friend’s home and warned them saying, “If you do this again and try to preach Christianity to a Muslim child, you’ll have to suffer a lot and you know it. We will complain about it to Islamic Police (Mutawa) and you could be exiled from this country forever.” With that, he could not read the Bible.
He had to go to the mosque and many times when there was no one in the mosque he used to cry and ask God to show him, “Who is this Jesus and who are You?” One day he was praying in the Mosque, during Zuhar’s prayer (noon prayer). He wasn’t thinking of Jesus Christ that time. Then, he saw an image of a glowing person on the floor where they bowed their heads in prayer. He was shocked. He never saw such a thing before, it was a kind of an image on water. He heard a voice within say, “This is Jesus Christ. This is the Lord!
His hunger to know about Jesus Christ grew more and more. He later found out more an Internet shop. One web site provided very nice information about who Jesus is, and prophecies about Him in the Old Testament, and how amazingly they are fulfilled in the New Testament.
He was very amazed and kept coming to this web site often. One day he thought of giving Jesus a try and so he said the salvation prayer on their web site.
One day he was walking toward a market using a short cut in a lonely area. As he walked, he asked God if what he was doing was right and should he be Christian or Muslim? He heard a Voice behind me saying “My son, you are on the right path.” He was again amazed for he had never had experienced these kinds of things.
As we open our hearts to accept His amazing Love, Christ enters in our life. We then walk on a mission in this life in the greatest Holy adventure in the universe. He knows us before we were born and He reaches out to us miraculously. Those who are searching will find Him!
