June 26 – God Reaches Anyone

Psalm 4: 3:  Know that the Lord has set apart for Himself those who is godly.

We often think don’t realize how powerfully and supernaturally God reaches people anywhere and anyhow.   Many times, we need to be humbled that God is working beyond and above us and everything does not depend on us alone. His will be done. Amen.  This is a very powerful unusual testimony from the South of India.Mrs. Paul Thangam came from a small village near Marthandam in Kanyakumari. She instigated others to pelt stones on Christian missionaries as she disliked them. Her father was a sorcerer and was the poojari of the local Hindu temple. Their village was named “Kavumoolai” because offerings and sacrifices will be offered to gods in various places in the fields and those places will be left without any vegetation.  As a family they served the gods by cleaning the temple and lighting the lamps. Whenever diseases afflicted anybody in the village, her father would go to that person’s house and make covenants with the gods.  Because timings of offering were not kept at times, they became poorer and poorer. She was unhappy because their home had troubles.  Then, for five months she started praying, “My loving God! Show me the true God whom I should worship”. One day at about 4 o’ clock in the morning, a person appeared in the sky, and stretching His hands towards her said “You praise Jesus of Nazareth. He is the true God whom you must worship.” She saw a vision of Jesus.  His face and hands looked like embers and the remaining parts adorned with snow-white clothes. From Him spread rays of light like the rays of the sun. She opened her eyes and He vanished, but she felt that a heavy burden had fallen off her and she was ecstatic. From that day on wards, she worshiped Jesus and confessed her sins. The Lord Jesus whom she had hated before was accepted to be her own Savior, but it remained a secret.  When her younger brother was dying, her father made a covenant with gods.  However, her brother died.  Her father in grief declared that they should not worship these gods anymore and said that they would go to churches for worship.  So the Lord opened the way for her and her entire family to attend church services and to know more about Jesus Christ.  Times were tough with persecution for their faith and they were driven out of their village.  Later, she got married, and they had three children. When their second son was ten, he had leukemia and one day, he passed away! She prayed from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. to raise him up again.  At about 5 o’ clock in the evening he slowly woke up and asked for water. He said that he visited the heaven.  He told them of the suffering of these people who lived according to their own will and did not walk in God’s’ path’. Demons tried to harm him, but Jesus protected him.  He saw angels and saw a long hall in which a lot of people in white garments praising God. When he asked who they were, he was told that they were the saints who suffer for God’s sake. Near the long hall was a small room. Pointing to that room, the angels said that that was the room Jesus told him that he should go back and asked him to follow four instructions: 1. Be My beloved.2. Be a witness for Me.3. Serve Me.    4. Do family prayer regularly. This young boy lived for six more months, but told them he would die and he passed away with joy, knowing he was going to a beautiful place.

Jesus the Savior does not belong to a particular place, state, or nation alone.  He is the Living God for all!  He is not limited to any situation and can reach anyone. He is looking for open willing hearts. Those who are searching for God will find Him.  This is the way He has reached millions!
