June 24 – Healing Winds
Jeremiah 30:17: 17 But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds,’declares the Lord.
Many times we are healed in spite of ourselves, meaning, we may not even have faith to be healed, but are simply healed because of the grace and love of God. The healing is present to heal. We just need to be in the right place at the right time, which has a connect to God. This is a wonderful testimony of such by Lisa Helm from USA. In November of 1999, she woke up one morning after being sick with the flu. She noticed her ears were ringing really badly. After a couple of weeks, it continued. She visited her family doctor who could not find anything. Later, she sought professional help and met with a specialist, got series of second opinions and dozens of tests. She was diagnosed with sensorineural (sensor neural, perceptive) hearing loss. She continued visits for over a year and thing seemed to worsen. There was no cure for this, neither hearing aids nor surgery could correct this type of disease. She was working for a National Satellite Company Call Center that required headphones. She was the sound technician at her church for many years. At that point, she was sinking very low in her faith and not understanding why this was all happening.
Her faithful caring church prayed for her over and over. She prayed and cried out to God many, many times just to feel disappointed. Her Associate Pastor prophesied God would heal her, but she was ready to give up.
Later, the church was in revival and she took an extra night off from work so she could attend another service. They were having a wonderful service and as she sat in the pew not expecting any miracle, she suddenly felt she was sitting in the Presence of the Lord. Then, she suddenly knew without a shadow of a doubt something had taken place. All of a sudden, her hearing was restored and she could hear after two years of being unable to hear! She walked cautiously to the front and told the Pastor what had happened. The Pastor immediately stopped the singing and service and told them what she had just shared. The church started rejoicing that night and the glory of God filled the sanctuary.
As children of God, He arranges us to be in certain places at certain times to perform a miracle for us. Sometimes, we are there with scanty faith, filled with fear and discouragement but His Hand reaches out and does the work that needs to be done. He also touches non-Christians the same way and many of the mighty miracles are done among them just to build their faith and encourage them to turn to Him! Remember, even if we are weak, He is strong and if our faith wavers, He is faithful. God is beyond us, our problems, our fears and our limitations. Keep your eyes fixed on Him and His healing winds will stir up a miracle for you.
