June 16  The Spiritual Light

Ephesians 3:20:  Glory be to God, who by His mighty power at work within us is able to do far more than we would ever dare to ask or even dream of-infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, or hopes.

God is a restorer of our bodies and our spirits. Our broken spirits and wounds can be healed by a touch of God.  Sometimes, we are so shattered by the past events that we lose hope to live or believe even in God anymore.  Here is a short testimony of how a young girl got healing for her broken soul and got the joy of the Lord for her sorrow.  Bernie had broken dreams because she lost many things she cherished, and even lost her friends who turned away from her.  She turned into an introvert, filled with fear, hypersensitivity, and soon became a nervous wreck.  With fear, paranoia, and rejection ruling her, she started to become rude to people and fluctuated between moods.  With this, people kept a distance from her except her mother who poured out love unconditionally. One day, Bernie was so distressed questioning God for bringing her to this Earth, hating to be alive.  With this agony in her heart, she rolled out her mat under the branches of a mango tree in their courtyard and laid her head down and fell asleep.  She says that under those branches something magical happened to her.  She had a strange experience, like a flash of thoughts where she started to see events in her life where she hurt someone or did something that was not right. It played out one after the next, till she was frozen in dismay. The feelings of superiority and better than everyone else quickly dissipated into a flood of tears. She finally, for the first time in her life saw herself for who she was in all her fears and weaknesses. She just cried in loud heartrending sobs.  Something was happening within her that she had never experienced before. She was for the first time brought into the presence of a God who radiated Love and Healing. It was a tangible experience, of having a Light come into her heart and soul. There was distinctly a Person who came inside of her and she could literally feel His presence from that point on.

She realized that she had so many weakness and surrendered all, and then she had in her heart a Love for everyone that was above and beyond she had ever felt. Her heart just swelled to overflowing with this delightful, bright and light feeling of being loved, belonging and of being able to finally understand everything. She realized that she was the culprit and not the others around her.  She was able to see what everyone needed and to understand the world in the eyes of God, to some extent. She felt a driving force to meet the needs of the people around her and to rejoice and enjoy the presence of the one inside her and she talked, communicated and existed with this Presence in her like nothing else mattered.  People soon saw the difference in her life.  She listened to people without being offended, she showed compassion, she started loving. She was her new rebirth!  The next time she went to church the next time, she got an amazing experience, just stepping into the church grounds caused her heart to leap with joy. The same force that she felt came flooding all over her with goosebumps.  The presence of Jesus finally made her realize that it was He who had touched her soul under the Mango tree.

The God who created all things filled her with love and light and healed her soul. God can touch us in a second and heal us marvelously beyond what we can think or imagine!
