June 10 Just A Closer Walk with Thee

Revelation 3:12:  The one who is victorious I will make a pillar in the temple of my God.

Sometimes, a tragedy comes into our lives where God in that trial under pressure, is transforming us into beautiful jewels.  My mother’s faith and trust in God grew leaps and bounds after the sad passing away of her brother, in a car accident in Canada in 1988.  She suddenly was jettisoned to the realization of the fragility of life.  In that she started to seek God more, pray more, read her Bible and then the miracle happened!  She started to experience God in her life in personal ways with the glorious realization that God personally cares for the tiny details in her life that may seem insignificant to others.  He hears, listens, answers and acts!

She learned over the years to depend and talk to the Lord about everything.  In this she found great joy, unspeakable! and rest in every storm.

Years later, on a very hot sunny sultry Sunday she did not want to go church and reasoned no need to go as she had her own good devotional books and reading material. She thought she would pray on her own. As she knelt down and prayed for a minute, she got a reply so clear. “Go to the temple of the Living God and worship Me there.” She realized immediately that it was from God since she had never used the Word Temple for church in her life nor had she heard anyone else use it. Thus, she went and was excited about it. A day or so later she got Rev 3;12 when she opened her Bible at random which says, “The one who is victorious I will make a pillar in the temple of my God.”

She testifies that against all odds that God’s hand of grace and favor has been upon her through the years- has taken water baptism late in life, been touched by the Fire of God’s presence in such a way that she could not stand in His Presence several times- an awesome experience where she literally fell down in God’s holy presence and after that, felt even more closer and awakened to God and His glory.

Over these years, she has grown spiritually stronger and more rested in God and experienced many wonderful things. Even though she has faced trouble and storms, through this, she felt the strength and peace of the Lord and experienced a rainbow at the end of each storm.

We will never be disappointed if we take that little step to walk closely with Christ each day.

Rita
