July 27 – The Washing and Work Within

Everything in our walk with God boils down to our communion life with God, which goes a step further than prayer. We people pray anxiously calling on the Heavens for help and then after that cry up high, we stroll out into the world and totally forget about God, ignoring Him for the rest of the day. The truth is we reconnected to own thought lives again, which may be self-seeking with traces of narcissism and ego-centrism. Somehow, during the day, it never occurs to us to talk to God through our situations, good or bad. While walking without communion, we are walking on a plain of carnality where vultures dare to rip and peck our self-life and carnality. The Prince of the Air is delighted to find us in that non-communion robot hazy trance and hits us poor humans so hard that we fall down hard, wondering what hit us and why our prayers did not sustain us. Eventually some of us swing an angry fist at God as well.

I once attended a Bible study where they said abiding means obedience and acknowledging Christ in your life, but I discovered it is very difficult to obey Him and acknowledge Him if we are not in communion. Communion comes before obedience. When we commune, we enter into enter a sanctuary of praise and worship and get fresh wind and fresh fire. We were created for fellowship with the Creator. So communion has to be at the very heart of our spiritual life. If we are not in communion, it is very, very hard to even obey the Holy Book or even understand anything about God.

Our intellectual understanding of the Word cannot change us within. The most important commandment love your neighbor as yourself cannot be obeyed by us because we do not have the spiritual strength or love within ourselves. In the Presence of the Holy Spirit, He changes us and pours out that supernatural love in our heart for others and heals our wounds and pain.

Bitter bantering is washed out of our souls and a lot of unclean things and dirt is swept out of the cupboards of our souls through this communion relationship with God. He will start to wash and clean our souls when we sit in His presence and talk to Him and meditate on His Word through our communion as well. Ephesians 5:26 26 to make her holy, cleansing[a] her by the washing with water through the Word.

When we do not pray and hardly commune, we are like dry brittle branches that crack under any pressure. If we are constantly communing, our branches are filled with sap, are strong and never crack.

Jesus said in John 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in Me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without Me ye can do nothing. There is abundance in our lives and in our homes because we walk in the Shekinah glory in the Holy Spirit, and people in communion are carriers of the Lord’s presence.
