2 Corinthians 4:7-9 7 But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. 8 We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; 9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;
Jars of clay are fragile, they break easily, get cracked, and don’t always look pretty too! The wonderful secret is when the King of Glory chooses to dwell by His Spirit in jars of clay, the impossible happens. Supernatural power is manifest in ordinary people in ordinary situations. Glory is power in presence. In the days when His power manifestations that are to come in heightening degrees, the dead will also be raised. Romans 6:4 says it was the glory that raised Jesus from the dead and Romans 8:11 says it was the Spirit that raised Christ from the dead. The glory, power, anointing and Holy Spirit always come together. In the revival times, the glory of Christ will come upon you and a few of these marvelous transactions will happen on Earth:
1. You manifest His glory as you abide in Christ. Without abiding in Him, it cannot happen. 2. You live in the dispensation of this glory and also a dispenser of Christ’s power. It is your simple prayers that bring breakthrough. 3. You are anointed and chosen for such a time as this. However, there can be no muddy waters inside you. In order to live clean and consecrated, you have to empty yourself to allow the Holy Spirit to fill you with fresh living waters daily. You ask, what if I fail and start to live in sin? The anointing will operate by grace for a season and ultimately, will be taken away. So these are times of full consecration and holiness too.
The word ‘power’ that the Holy Spirit speaks about is dunamis power in the Greek, meaning surpassing power, extraordinary overabundant power. All this happens because we carry the treasures of the Holy Spirit in our jays of clay. While we are fragile, the jars of clay start to glow with incandescent light emanating Christ’s glory around them.
