January 2- From Dust to Dazzling Diamonds – Devotional Thought #spiritual #writing

Malachi 3:17: God declares, “’They shall be Mine,’ says the Lord of hosts, ’On the day that I make them My jewels.’

Don’t be overwhelmed by pressure. Great pressure brings mighty transformation! The word diamond in the Greek language translates as “adamas” which means unconquerable and indestructible. Diamonds were originally discovered in India. The ancient Greeks believed that diamonds were splinters of stars fallen to the Earth. Romans believed that diamonds had power to ward off evil spirits and wore them as talismans. The diamond is the hardest of all gemstones known to man. It is also the simplest in composition and is made up of only one element—common carbon. Diamonds are carried to the surface of the earth by volcanic eruptions; only very few diamonds survive the hazardous journey from the depths of the earth to reach the surface. Diamonds are brittle; if hit hard with a hammer a diamond will shatter or splinter. Even though a diamond can be broken, a diamond lasts forever and its composition never gets destroyed. Over time, through pressure, the volcanic material hardens to a rock. We too, over time, start to strengthen under pressure to become tough material. Some of us are diamonds in the rough. We have potential, gifts, talents lying latently within us. God wants to commission us to do greater things in our lives. Once we are hardened to form under pressure, God in His love allows picks us out of the miry clay and volcano, and starts to do a work of refinement on us. He grinds away the anger, lust, jealousy, bickering and starts to polish us to dazzling sparkling diamonds. The power of God transforms for generic carbonated dust to carbon rock and then finally chipped and ground to beautiful exotic diamonds. Diamonds are a gift to the world. They are intensely valuable, precious. We too will be transformed to value through God through our pain, pressure and sufferings. We will glow in a dark world, to give hope to millions. The price the diamond had to pay to be become this way is high, so too, when we go under pressure to transform, it is powerful and a blessing to others. We need to let God pick us up, chisel us, chip away all the rough surfaces in us, and finally polish us to sparking bright and clear. All our trials are transforming us from faith to faith and glory to glory. As we surrender to Him, let Him do His mighty work in us to transform us.

Do not resist His work in you and you will be a beautiful diamond, strong, and indestructible, in spirit and truth. And remember, that sparkle through you is the Holy Spirit shining His light through you along with the strength of your stronger diamond soul!!
