Matthew 14:14; 15:30-31: And Jesus went forth…moved with compassion…and He healed their sick…. And great multitudes came unto Him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus’ feet; and He healed them: Insomuch that the multitude wondered, when they saw the dumb to speak, the maimed to be whole, the lame to walk, and the blind to see: and they glorified God.
We have been taught that God gets glory when we suffer under pain, agony, death, and sickness. While this could build character in us, remember, this is for us, it is not for others. The glory is always related to the larger periphery of humankind. If our friends who do not believe see our suffering, they have said, “Their God does not hear them!”
Personally, we have heard people from other faith turn to Christ mostly because of a healing or deliverance. Now, while we judge that this was a shallow salvation, the Bible has actually shown us that Jesus healed the sick and delivered people where Gentiles and Jews alike started believing in Him. They were faithful followers and loved Him. God gets glory when the blind see and the lame walk and the maimed are made whole!
It is the simple faith of people that opens the realms of glory. Such people don’t argue about what the Word of God offers them. The intellectuals argue, but in Christ, we are to be simple, child-like in believing Him, and then miracles happen. The sick people get healed, the lame start to walk and dance and run, the blind see, the insane become sane again, the terminally ill and dying are healed and the dead rise up, and people living bondage to lusts get delivered! Such is our mighty God!
Today, may we learn to receive the Word of God in simple faith to open up the realm of Glory, and then God gets the Glory!
