3000 kg of heroin has been seized at Mundra Port, owned by Gautam Adani’s company Adani Port, which is said to be worth around Rs 21000 crore. (update)
The heroin reached Gautam Adani’s port from Afghanistan, caught at Mundra Port, seized from two containers, which were imported from Afghanistan. Two people have been arrested so far.
The heroin has been recovered in the operation of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) and Customs, which has been confiscated by the agency.
According to DRI sources, the containers carrying heroin were imported by a firm based in Vijaywada in Andhra Pradesh and the firm declared the consignment as ‘talcum powder’. The exporting firm has been named as Hassan Hussain Limited, based in Kandahar, Afghanistan.
The operation of DRI and Custom was going on for the last five days and when the agency stopped the consignment and investigated, drugs worth Rs 21000 crores (update) were recovered in the guise of talcum powder. After this, the agency has started an investigation in five cities.
Criticism pours out against Gautam Adani after this discovery with rage sparked against his alleged monopoly over the farm laws as well as alleged drug dealing. As it is said, Adani began his business career as a smuggler and it is presumed he would soon take over Ambani as the richest man in India and perhaps the world, one day!
However, netizens are also upset with the selective silence of the Media, which did not raise up the issue on any television channel, while as they point out that fifty-nine grams of weed got actor Rhea jailed with NCB, ED, IT, CBI & Media behind her with raging television debates tearing her down.
Then again, BJP’s Pamela Goswami was caught with 100 grams of cocaine, but there was no NCB, ED, CBI case and the matter is no longer discussed!
