The Bible is a gathering of 66 books, inspired by the Holy Spirit (2 Peter 1:20-21: 20 Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things. 21 For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit) given directly by God, written by 40 men over centuries from different fields of life, kings, warriors, fishermen, farmers, soldiers, priests, having never each other or heard of each other, but it is written as if a single person wrote it, with no contradiction of thought. Over two thousand prophesies of the Bible have been fulfilled today. It is alive creating life and power. If we live by the Word of God, we will grow from strength to strength and glory to glory!
Genesis 1: 1:1 “In the beginning God created the Heavens and the Earth.” 1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. If we notice, the Holy Spirit was hovering over the waters of the Earth. Earth is the only planet with large bodies of water. We often think He made Earth out of nothing, but something was there, waters and gas, but foaming, swirling and angry.
We know that Satan (Lucifer)and his fallen angels were thrown out of Heaven from Isaiah 14 and Ezekiel: Mortal, raise a lamentation over the king of Tyre, and say to him, Thus says the Lord GOD: You were the signet of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was your covering, carnelian, chrysolite, and moonstone, beryl, onyx, and jasper, sapphire, turquoise, and emerald; and worked in gold were your settings and your engravings. On the day that you were created they were prepared. With an anointed cherub as guardian I placed you; you were on the holy mountain of God; you walked among the stones of fire. You were blameless in your ways from the day that you were created, until iniquity was found in you. In the abundance of your trade you were filled with violence, and you sinned; so I cast you as a profane thing from the mountain of God, and the guardian cherub drove you out from among the stones of fire. Your heart was proud because of your beauty; you corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor. I cast you to the ground; I exposed you before kings, to feast their eyes on you. By the multitude of your iniquities, in the unrighteousness of your trade, you profaned your sanctuaries. So I brought out fire from within you; it consumed you, and I turned you to ashes on the earth in the sight of all who saw you. All who know you among the peoples are appalled at you; you have come to a dreadful end and shall be no more forever (Ezekiel 28:12-19).
Lucifer and his fallen angels dwelled in the second heavens, the first heaven (Earth’s atmosphere) and roamed over the raging waters of the Earth. This is why when God made humans, Lucifer was furious because he was jealous of humans, and since that day, set out to destroy humans, feeling that Earth was his territory.
God spoke Words and created life! Jesus Christ is called the Living Word. John 1 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without Him was not anything made that was made. 4 In Him was life; and the life was the Light of men. Jesus was always there! He is part of the Godhead, Father, Son and Spirit!
All the three persons of the Godhead were involved in creation. The Hebrew word used for God is “Elohim” and is plural. There is also a Hebrew word for “dual” and it is not used in this case and so it does appear that Elohim must include more than two or the Hebrew word for dual would have been used or the singular word for God should have been used but neither one is. The plural “Elohim” includes God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
Jesus, the light shines in the darkness always. “And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.” Since the Godhead is involved in creation, all creation sings His praise. The creation declares the glory and power of God and “proclaims His handiwork” (Psalm 19:1) and the creation cries out both night and day and “reveals [this] knowledge” (Psalm 19:2) to us.
Scientists who believed in the Big Bang theory have changed their thinking and it is proved in the previous posts that the world did not materialize abruptly and the age of the new created Earth is not as old as claimed: Here is the evidence for creation as given by the Bible:
1. Geology: Tightly Folded Rock Strata: If hard rock is is bent, it normally cracks and breaks. Rock can only bend without fracturing when it is softened by extreme heating (which causes re-crystallization) or when the sediments have not yet fully hardened. There are many places in the world where massive sections of strata that have been tightly folded, without evidence of the sediments being heated. While evolutionists believe these rock layers were laid down gradually over vast eons of time, forming the geologic record. Creationists believe these layers were formed rapidly in the global, catastrophic Flood described in Genesis and this is evidenced by the formation of these strata of rocks even embedded with fossils of sea creatures. After the Flood, the topography of the Earth changed, and continents divided, water froze to fossilize ancient creatures and material. (There is so much to be said about the Flood and will go into that later).
2. The earth cannot be billions of years old. Radiocarbon in Diamonds: This proves that the earth is very young as in the Bible. Radiocarbon (carbon-14) cannot remain naturally in substances for millions of years because it decays quite rapidly. Due to this, it can only be used to obtain “ages” in the range of tens of thousands of years. Scientists from the Radioisotopes and the Age of the Earth project examined diamonds that evolutionists consider to be 1–2 billion years old and related to the earth’s early history, since diamonds are the hardest known substance and the most resistant to contamination through chemical exchange. They discovered significant detectable levels of radiocarbon in these diamonds, dating them at around 55,000 years—disclaiming the evolutionary billions of years theory! This has been proved with fossils too.
3. Astronomy: The gravitational pull of the moon creates a “tidal bulge” on earth that causes the moon to spiral outwards very slowly. Because of this effect, the moon would have been closer to the earth in the past. Based on gravitational forces and the current rate of recession, we can calculate how much the moon has moved away over time. If the earth is only 6,000 years old, in that time the moon would have only moved about 800 feet. But most astronomy books teach that the moon is over four billion years old, which poses a major dilemma—less than 1.5 billion years ago the moon would have been touching the earth!
The same goes with the sun, if it was just a fraction closer, it would burn us, and a little further, it would be freezing, so surely things were placed very carefully, minutely by Someone who was extremely intelligent who fixed things in position with the exquisiteness exceeding the technology of the most complex computer. This intelligent Someone went beyond the just mixing and melting!
Like other planets, the earth has a magnetic field that is decaying rapidly. Scientists invented a “dynamo model” of the earth’s core to explain how the field could have lasted over such a long period of time, but this model fails to adequately explain the data for the rapid decay and the rapid reversals that it has undergone in the past and also cannot account for the magnetic fields of other planets, such as Neptune and Mercury.
In the creationist model (based on the Genesis Flood in the Bible) this simply explains the data in regard to the earth’s magnetic field, giving powerful evidence that the earth is only thousands of years old—and not billions.
4. Biology: Dinosaur Soft Tissue: In recent years, there have been many findings of “wondrously preserved” biological materials in supposedly ancient rock layers and fossils. One such discovery that has left evolutionists scrambling is a fossilized Tyrannosaurus rex femur with flexible connective tissue, branching blood vessels, and even intact cells! According to evolutionists, these dinosaur tissues are more than 65 million years old, but laboratory studies have shown that there is no known way—and likely none possible—for biological material to last more than thousands of years.
5. Anthropology: Human Population Growth: A biblical age of the earth (about 6,000 years) is consistent with the numbers yielded by such a calculation. In contrast, even a conservative evolutionary age of 50,000 years comes out to a impossibly high figure of 10 to the 99th power—greater than the number of atoms in the universe! Every 40 years, the population explodesat that rate, this would make the world population 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000, 000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 000,000,000,000,000,000,000, 000,000,000. Impossible!
When we take Scripture as written, it’s clear that the Earth can’t be more than a few thousand years old—and from a biblical worldview, the scientific evidence agrees! More on that coming soon!
The theories of humankind keep changing but God’s Word never does and what He states as fact has no need of change (Gen 1:1).
Genesis 1:2-3 God is the Author and Originator of Light 1:1-2 “And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness [was] upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.”
1:3 “And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.”
God is both Light and the light of the world (John 1:4). The light was made before either the sun or moon was created: Light is in fact an attribute of God and God’s handiwork and that which could only belong to God because only God’s light can overcome darkness (John 1:5). God is always the source of this light (John 1:8-9) but mankind, before his new birth, always walked in darkness (Isaiah 9:2; 1 John 1:6).
Gen 1:4-8 God Commands the Creation 1:4-6 “And God saw that the light was good. And God separated the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day.”
The Hebrew word for day is “yom” and is a 24-hour period, not days as in the plural form so we can conclude that the “day is as a thousand years” look at creation (2 Pet 3:8) is wrong and doesn’t fit the context of 2 Peter 3. Neither does the text of Genesis 1 fit that the creation as being over thousands or millions of years because of the Hebrew language given. God says that was in a day and not in days, years, or millions of years.
1:7 “And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which [were] under the firmament from the waters which [were] above the firmament: and it was so.”
Why were the waters divided? Perhaps the sea and rivers were divided from those waters that are in the clouds, which are upheld by Gods power. We know that God commands the seas to go to such a certain place and they can go no further (Proverbs 8:29).
1:8 “And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.”
The firmament apparently is what is called the second heaven and is the region of the air and all that is above us where the birds will shortly fly below the clouds.
Gen 1:10-13 God, Creator of Life 1:11 “And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, [and] the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed [is] in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.”
The text appears to show that God created the earth in a mature state because the herbs were already yielding seed and the trees were already bearing fruit then why do scientists date the earth 3.7 billion years old? Sinful humans always attempt to explain away God. From the text we do know that it’s only by the power of God’s word that He made the earth to be fruitful and to already be bearing fruit and seed. He didn’t have to wait for them to mature and come to seed or to bear fruit.
1:12 “And the earth brought forth grass, [and] herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed [was] in itself, after his kind: and God saw that [it was] good.”
Why was it good? It is still good today? If not, why not? Today we know that, after the curse, things are not as they were originally created to be. Certainly this signifies that God made all His creation, including all of His creatures (animals, birds, etc.) to serve for His glory and for the profit of man, however because of sin they were cursed, yet the elect and God’s creation, by Christ, are to be restored someday (Rev 21, 22).
Gen 1:14-19 Lights for Seasons and Times 1:14 “And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years.” Remember, all seasons will remain forever until the New Earth that God creates. There will always be spring, summer, autumn and winter as long as the Earth remains.
Was this light in the firmament only the sun and moon or did it mean the stars as well? Was the starlight already reaching the earth? Was the day “from sunset to sunset” as in the Hebrew tradition of the word “yom?” It must be so. Why are these to be “signs?” By the “lights” it appears that it means the sun, the moon, and the stars will tell us what season it is, just as we can tell today.
1:16 “And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: [he made] the stars also.”
Weren’t these “two great lights” already made before verse 16? What is the “lesser light” that is to rule the night? These are the sun and the moon, and here He speaks as how a man would judge by his eye because the sufficiency of the light rules by day (the greater light) as instruments appointed for the purpose of mankind. The lesser light which was made to rule the night is the moon and naturally “the stars also.”
Genesis 1:20-23 Creator of Life 1:20 “And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that has life, and fowl [that] may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.”
Aquatic life was created at this point and the creatures could have a place to live and multiply.
1:21 “And God created great whales, and every living creature that moves which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that [it was] good.”
Once again, God declares what He has created as “good” but what does it mean that everything was created “after their kind?” Did the fish and the fowls both have one beginning? The fish and fowls had both one beginning, in which we see that nature gives place to God’s will, in that the one sort is made to fly about in the air, and the other to swim beneath in the water. To be created “after their kind” would argue against the ability of creatures to evolve into another, distinct and completely different species, thereby debunking the theory of evolution.
1:22 “And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.”
How could God tell the creatures to “be fruitful and to multiply” unless He had created them with that propensity? That is, it is by the virtue of His spoken word that He gave the ability to His creatures to reproduce. God never commands what He first does not enable.
Gen 1:26-28 God Creates Man in His Own Image 1:26 “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.”
Again, why does Moses write that God said “Let us” make man in our image? What does it mean to be in the image of God since God is Spirit? Why were humans created after His own likeness and what does this likeness mean? What does God mean that man is to have dominion over the earth and the creatures? God commanded the water and the earth to bring forth other creatures: but of man He says, “Let us make…” signifying that God creates as a community and the “us” is surely the Three Persons of the Godhead doing the creation in unison, harmony, and cooperatively. The image and likeness of God in man might be explained in Ephesians 4:24 where originally, before the fall, man was in “the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.” All humans are created in the image of God..all humans are deeply loved by God and this is why, we must love and honor one another. We honor all humans, not just our own clans, communities or faiths, but everyone, because we are all made in the image of God and He loves each one. God made us all for a divine purpose. However, some people reject God and that is when turmoil boils.
When a person is born again, there is a “new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness” and our spirit grows into His righteousness through the forgiveness of our harmatia (sin – falling below His standard of holiness) (Eph 4:24), through the Blood of Christ. This does not mean if we are forgiven that we continue in sin, it means we now have to go from salvation to sanctification (transforming to a purer soul) and ultimately glorification in Heaven and the New Earth. If we continue in sin, we fall unto judgement. The Bible says, work out your salvation…..and we can only do this through obedience to the Word and walking in fellowship with the Holy Spirit. Romans 8.
1:28 “And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
How is it that God blessed them? Was it a necessary blessing for them to be able to “be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth?” God blessed who exactly? Was it the creatures or humankind or both? The “them” is man as until now, Eve had not turned up! But God speaks into the future as if it were because He know it all. God looks at things that are not yet as though they already are (Isaiah 46:10).
1:29 “And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which [is] upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which [is] the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for food.”
God originally commanded all to eat “every herb” as everything was pure. Herbs are healthy, it does not mean He commanded all to eat grass! He meant herbs, fruits, and vegetables. There was no rain as the earth was covered with a canopy of moist dew which kept the air very pure and earth well hydrated. Health flowed through the earth!
After creating the herbs, rocks, plants, trees, God breathed into man the breath of life. God is the Author of Life. This is contrary to the molecules-to-man theory that continuously changes, just like the recent scientific community’s shift away from the Big Bang Theory. The Bible contains scientific facts. As from dust we were made, and when we die, our outer shell body to dust will return.
Nothing in creation was chance:
i. The universe has a just-right gravitational force.
· If it were larger, the stars would be too hot and would burn up too quickly and too unevenly to support life · If it were smaller, the stars would remain so cool, nuclear fusion would never ignite, and there would be no heat and light ii. The universe has a just-right speed of light.
· If it were larger, stars would send out too much light · If it were smaller, stars would not send out enough light iii. The universe has a just-right average distance between the stars.
· If it were larger, the heavy element density would be too thin for rocky planets to form, and there would only be gaseous planets · If it were smaller, planetary orbits would become destabilized because of the gravitational pull from other stars iv. The universe has a just-right polarity of the water molecule.
· If it were greater, the heat of fusion and vaporization would be too great for life to exist · If it were smaller, the heat of fusion and vaporization would be too small for life’s existence, liquid water would become too inferior a solvent for life chemistry to proceed, ice would not float, leading to a runaway freeze-up v. We could conclude that there is no chance that such a universe could create itself, apart from an intelligent designer.
God created the Universe in Genesis 1.
