February 16 – Carrying Prayer Burdens
Revelation 1:6: And has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
We are kings, priests, princesses and priestess in prayer! This means in God as believers in Spirit, we are often given prayer burdens by Christ, interceding on Earth as it is in Heaven where Christ also intercedes 24/7 for His believers and also the world.
The first prayer burden is emergency prayer burden. Suddenly, you will feel an intense pressure to pray, or think of someone and feel like praying for them. A lot of times, we may dream of someone and when that happens, pray for them instantly. Ask for angels to assist to bring forth help to the person instantly. Pray for the Blood of Jesus to cover the situation. Keep praying until you get peace. During World War II, a British chaplain was on a ship crossing the English Channel. One night, he was awakened out of deep sleep with a strong burden to pray for all on the ship. He prayed for a long time, until peace entered his heart. Just then, an officer came up to him and informed him that the ship had missed a floating mine by a few yards, spotted just in time! That same week, two troop ships went down the same waters and over fifteen hundred men went down and died. If we are sensitive to God and obedient to prayer, He gives us these very supernatural prayer burdens.
Long-time burdens deeper prayer: God places a situation, a nation or a person on your heart very deeply to pray. Either it is for revival, or for the persecuted people, or for deliverance of a loved one, or healing for someone. In this prayer burden, you will pray for it daily. One day, a Taiwanese missionary had a prayer burden that something terrible was going to happen, so she and her husband kept praying. They prayed for three days, not knowing what they were praying about. On the third day, they went into intense spiritual warfare. Later, they got a letter from their daughter in California. She reported that she had been in a terrible car accident where her car overturned, but she only got a few cuts and bruises! The time of the accident was the same time that they had prayed with the greatest intensity on the third day!
Long-time burdens call for united prayer: For example, due to intense persecution, prayer warriors all over are now called out to pray intensely for the persecuted people. In fact, we have never seen such unity in the churches as now and that holy burden to pray every single day are rising like flames all over India and we can see the Holy fire blazing and answers to prayers blessing the persecuted believers. They are getting new strength to stand strong and also seeing breakthroughs, changes of hearts and protection from worse things. Praise God! Welcome prayer burdens because you don’t know whose life can be saved through our prayer interventions. One day, in Heaven we will know and rejoice to learn these secrets.
