Chapter 3: Why Do We Need Revival Again?

Why Do We Need Revival Again?

1. We need revival because the Gospel is to be preached to all nations before the end of this age of grace as given in Matthew 24.

2. The Joel 2 awakening is not in the Tribulation and not in the Millennium; it is for the age now because this is the only age where we need the gifts of the spirit.

3. We need a new Nineveh awakening, where God will have mercy and pour out His Revival Rain and Fire to bring many, many people from all nations to repentance as the levels of sin in the world have risen to its pinnacle since the history of the world.

4. A hundred years ago was the last world revival. Now why is there such a long gap with no signs of the Rapture? This is because the Lord wants us pray for the last revival…thus He is tarrying, as many to be saved before the Tribulation.

5. Pure-hearted prophets today are prophesying that this is the time to walk in faith, step out in the waters and God will empower us where we will walk in mighty callings, caste out demons, set people free and most importantly participate very largely in the world’s largest Repentance Revival.

6. The majority of churches are now steeped in sin, love has waxed cold, disunity breeds, greed, lust, blindness and God needs to restore many churches, giving them another chance before the Rapture.

7. We need a Rain Revival, the flow of water to wash and cleanse our nations. I have done an exposition of revival rain and cleansing water in another devotion.

Restoration verses for the church:

Psalm 51:12 “Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit.”

Acts 3:19-21 Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that He may send the Christ appointed for you, Jesus, whom heaven must receive until the time for restoring all the things about which God spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets long ago.

James 5:16 “Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working that he may send the Christ appointed for you, Jesus, whom heaven must receive until the time for restoring all the things about which God spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets long ago.”

Acts 2:38 And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

The verses above all pertain to a new awakening of the church out of its slumber and sin. It is the heart of God to give His people one last chance before the Rapture and to also draw as many new souls to Heaven before the event of the Tribulation.

For this to happen, the world systems will be shaken out of comfort zones, natural disasters will hit the Earth with frightening frequencies and there would be shakings, shifts and changes on the world scene. Some of the pampered, mammon-loving, narcissistic churches would arise out of a slumber of luxury divans and weep, wail, and cry out to God. This is always seen at the beginning of a real revival and the last great awakening will last until Jesus returns again in the clouds!!
