August 25 – I Will Never Let You Go!
Going to a religious place of worship and doing good does not necessarily make one a true follower of God. Judas was in the presence of Christ, taught by Him and walked with Him, and still he walked away…did he really receive God, did he really know Him? On the other hand, Peter denied Christ, but came back…the comeback is the crux. That has to be.
Ever experienced this? Someone you knew from your yesteryears who was on fire for God, empowered to serve…then down the road you meet them again, to find out they are atheist or something else, whatever. I mean when you knew them those days, they were powerfully close to God, so what happened!?I had good old friends were on fire for the Lord always telling me what the Lord was speaking to them while I myself at one time was not so close to God. Over the years, they changed,
Truth is once you get close to God, there a dozens of verses to confirm that God will never let us go. He holds us on the palm of His Hand and no one can snatch us out.
Then there can be two answers to this mystery of why people turn away:
The first is this: Either a person was never close to God in the first place. They wanted God only for the benefits..it was a matlabi relationship. The person may have just had a wonderful emotional response to God which faded over time. Going to the heart of God is a spirit to spirit experience. The Spirit of God awakens the human spirit to spiritual life and transforms the soul. Yet, if there is an emotional response, over time, emotions change, flicker and fade. Nothing in the realm of emotionalism is stable. As water and oil do not mix and the oil of the Holy Spirit never can anoint and bless a soul if the soul is filled with dust. The dirt and dust will choke the spirit and muddy waters will wash away spiritual truth offshore. Their spirit never had a spirit encounter with God. Flesh, emotions and spirit do not mix if not in balance and harmony and in right order as oil and dirt water do not.
The second is this: I know a man who was so on fire for God he wanted to serve Him in ministry. Then one day, he had a series of bad situations happen in his life and he hated God. He turned his face against God, but years later, he turned back to God. For the season that he turned away from God, he was living in the Land of the Scales. He knew the truth but turned away, but the Holy Spirit worked in situations in his life and one day, he responded to the conviction and returned back to God.
Satan temporarily blinds people and covers their eyes with scales. A person who is really close to God will always have the Holy Spirit to work in them, even if it is at the tail end of their lives. Also God loves us so much, even if we are weak, He is strong. If we were wrong, He forgives us and draws us back to Him. We can never judge anyone because only God love each one – He will never let us go!
