August 15 – Extravagant Delights

August 15 – Extravagant Delights

1 Corinthians 2:9:  However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived” — the things God has prepared for those who love Him.”

God loves us and wants to lavish His abundances on us.   However, why do we feel to depleted of His blessings so many times. We cry for breakthrough, change, and sometimes turn to Man in our times of need and most of the time are disappointed.  If we position ourselves to the world system, we very often experience its hard lashes and wet stings.

There is one place of incredible breakthrough and it is through Presence.   But why are many of us not experiencing this?  We seem to be doing all the right steps, praying, reading the Bible, etc.

We can only be in the Presence through Position. If something is not breaking through, discern you are in the wrong position.

The Bible speaks of spiritual blessings in harmony with physical blessings.  They come together.  We are terrified of a “prosperity gospel” because this message has been abused by hearts of greed and corruption so we are scared to even use the word “blessings!”  Let not the wickedness of humans dilute the Truth of God.  Here are a few points which help us to define and seek blessings in the right way.

  1. We need to understand that God’s blessings do not come to us because of our goodness but because we are God’s Children. Romans 8:16-17:  And since we are His children, we will share His treasures–for everything God gives to his Son, Christ, is ours, too.  We cannot earn the blessings, but we must align ourselves to God in order to receive them.

  2. When He blesses us, it is full and complete, we get peace and joy and love. If we receive material blessings, but find ourselves angrier, stressed, tensed, greedy for more, selfish, indifferent, be sure that the devil did not send you “prosperity” to keep you far from God.  He adds no sorrows to our blessings.

  3. God blesses the obedient. Get rid of sin!  Deuteronomy: 15:5-6:  You will receive this blessing if you carefully obey the commands of the Lord your God that I am giving you today. 6 The Lord your God will bless you as He has promised.

  4. As we learned in the previous reading, God blesses the generous. – Luke 6:38:  If you give, you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full measure, pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, and running over. Whatever measure you use in giving–large or small–it will be used to measure what is given back to you.”

When we have a thankful heart, rejoicing in God in everything, our blessings will thunder over us like a cascading waterfall.  If we thank God for the fresh air, the birds, our families, our homes, the butterflies, flowers, trees, the food we eat, the water we drink, a certain joy floods our hearts, thankfulness overflows and this is the greatest blessing of all.  We may not have much but when we just start thanking Him, something wonderful happens in our lives and the River of Joy will never stop flowing. That is the greatest blessing!
