April 4 – Faith in the Dark is believing when it is the hardest.
The secret to life is trust! Trust and obey, for there is no other way to be happy in God, but to trust and obey! This was our old school hymn favorite!
In the heat of battle when the air is foggy with dirt, flaming arrows set aimed at you, take up faith and pray! The prayer of faith has the power to extinguish all negativity and bad omens.
For example, if someone breaks open your door, drags you all out beating you, and the cops are at you, bundling you to the police station, start to pray silently, keep praying without ceasing and let a picture of faith rise within you, faith to know that you will be vindicated, released, faith to know that the angels are fighting for you. Hide this verse in your heart, “Isaiah 54:17 No weapon formed against you shall prosper,And every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord.” Pray this by faith.
Khalil Gibran, one of my favorite poets said, “Faith is a knowledge within the heart, beyond the reach of proof. “
Your own faith will deliver you from the gates of death. In some cases, believers died in their faith, but they died in victory, in peace, surrounded by angels, they had dying grace. Somehow, such faith rises that you are not afraid of anything anymore….out of their destruction, seeds will grow again to greater life.
The flaming arrows can also come through temptations. The flaming arrow is this also: Negative thoughts or images suddenly flood our minds and we suddenly get a terrible thought or dark images come out of nowhere. This suddenly pops up – friends, these are the flaming arrows from a negative source. You didn’t seek it but it came suddenly in your mind and you felt shocked….it is our connectivity and faith in God wherever we are that delivers us…. Remember, it is our golden cord connection to God that protects, nothing else, not the holy place, not the church, shrine, mosque, temple.
Accusations too come like flaming arrows telling you that you are a useless person. Resist that accusation with the declaration of faith of who you are a child of the mighty God.
To take up the shield of faith means actively trusting in the living God and His Word. King David always picked up his shield of faith and he lived a long life and died peacefully. In Psalm 18:2-3, he says, “The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised, and I am saved from my enemies.” Psalm 115:9-11 “O Israel, trust in the Lord; He is their help and their shield. O house of Aaron, trust in the Lord; He is their help and their shield. You who fear the Lord, trust in the Lord; He is their help and their shield.”
