April 19 – Doors
Doors can open to good things and bad. We never know what could happen in a single day. As the quote says above, happiness can come into our lives through doors we don’t even remember leaving open. There are things we cannot understand, but above it all, the Creator who made us allows all the happen. He closes doors and opens doors for us.
There are three kinds of doors:
Supernatural doors: These are wonderful Doors that God opens and closes for us supernaturally. We have nothing to do with that. Many times, new doors open fantastic avenues of excellent things in the most unexpected way. We never even imagined or thought these great things would happen for us. Those Doors open mysteriously at times when we least expect them. We may not have even prayed for that, it just happened. It is His Door. On the other hand, He also mysteriously closes Doors for us when knowing the roads beyond those Doors will hurt us more. We may weep and think He has taken something away from us, but in truth, He is protecting us. It is also said that when He closes a Door, He will always open a new greater one, so hope.
Self-made bad doors: Sometimes, our own deeds open doors to greater darkness. For example, moving with a violent crowd might open our doors to more danger, crime, violence or getting involved in a shady deal would always keep us living on the edge. Our life then become unpredictable. Sometimes, people who died violent deaths had a link in a subterfuge transaction that went against them. Sometimes, extensive viewing of television violence causes greater aggressiveness. Watching too much crime patrol and crimes series could make people view others with suspicion or even give rise to crime plots. Children with impulsive behaviors, emotional, behavioral problems may be more easily influenced by violent video games, brutality on TV and this may not surface until years later. Psalm 101:3: “I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.”
Self-made good doors: On the good side, some of our wise decisions and good deeds will see the fruit of our hard work and open brighter doors and greener pastures. Our right choices will bear us strength, joy, success, prosperity and widen the spheres of our influences. If we stick in the mud, we may never have the joy of enjoying the success of walking through the most amazing doors.
“God has created several doors which open onto truth. He opens them to all those who knock on them with the hand of faith. ”― Kahlil Gibran
