Sometimes we are more obsessed with suffering and pain and sorrows, and that’s right, we need suffering to go stronger but to live in a wave of suffering is calling more suffering on ourselves. We keep on looking at it as if it is our friend. There are people who say, “Suffering is my lot.” They feel that the more they suffer, the more rewards they will get in Heaven. When the world looks damp and dark, they are actually happy. When there is a terrible earthquake shuddering over the Earth and furious thunder storm, they cry, “Aah, this is good.”
When Corona stalks the world they feel that it is good.
When things happen to us, we get grace and strength to bear if, especially if we look to the Creator who made us, but to always look for pain and sorrow is not natural. God who created us wants us to live in love, joy and peace in spite of our circumstances. There is a 2-sided miracle here. When you start to live in love, joy and peace, out of this comes the gift of gratitude which is a magnet for miracles. Soon, circumstances change and life changes.
You will get grace to live through tough times, but the time times will get better. It is a season, the winter is over and the spring has come. When spring comes, another kind of joy of wonder and delight fills your heart.
Out of this, new things start to build up. Life can be tough but tough times pass away, but tough people last. The actual joy of living comes in daily small things, like watching flowers open, enjoying fireflies, seeing the sunrise, waterfall, going for a walk., whatever it is, life should start to become abundant in tiny series of wonders everyday. We should not look or wait that only if this happens, then I will be happy. No, then you will never be happy.
Paul in the Bible said, “I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:11-13.
If we live in His life, it is a force flowing within us given by the Holy Spirit. The more we enact in this life, the more the abundant life will flow through us. If we do not walk in joy, love, peace, hope, our spiritual life gets stagnant, like a blocked river and sometimes like a dirty river filled with muck, dirt, plastics, trash and filth. By faith, may we rise up to walk and act in the new life.
Our past failures are forgotten as we walk in the newness of this life. “
