When Wild Animals Played on City Streets in 2020 #poem #poetry

Do they not realize for the first time in human history The entire humankind was locked indoors, jittery and nervy While wild animals played on city streets in ecstasy? Do they realize the world will never be the same again? With locus swarming over cities like falling rain Lives lost, markets shaky all washed down in drains Or will they still play ping-pong blame games? Will they still hate, spew poison and kill each other? Not comprehending we are universal sisters and brothers? Do they realize that this Frankenstein monster they created Is now out of control and causing even the innocent to be hated? Do they not realize that greed, grabbing, and hate all the time Is immersing the world with dirt, filth, and bacterial slime? Do they not realize money power may no longer pull strings? Because life took higher precedence on angel’s wings In sorrow, minds evolve and no longer want to be territorial So, will they stop playing their dirty games and wake up to reality? Will they wake up soon to perceive life’s power and gravity? Will they ever live as normal humans with love and sanity?

Panthers, cheetahs, leopards, tigers, elephants, deer, monkeys, and other wild animals walked the streets of India, while humans remained indoors, locked up, for the first time in human history the entire world is in a universal lockdown.
