What is Beauty?
Is it golden honey glowing skin? Melting eyes stealing hearts to win? Countenances of roses and cream Haunting beauty in midnight dreams? Cocoa-sheen skins with deep dark eyes Causing hearts to rise up beyond cloudy skies? Or is beauty something beyond The beholder’s adoring eyes? If beauty is only skin deep, it’s shallow Its life, depth, age and scope is narrow If beauty has a turbulent unsteady soul To ashes it crumbles in the texture of coal Such beauty is weak and fades like flowers And never revived in sweet Spring showers True beauty lies deep within the soul With flowing fullness that’s always whole True beauty only intensifies over time True beauty captures the higher sublime True beauty is a radiant soul that loves Shining with light from within and above True beauty never really grows old Always energized from its heart of gold
