The Eyes of Faith

When Sarah was ninety years old It seemed impossible to bear the child As by the glorious angel she was told When Gideon saw his band of 300 trumpet blowers They stood no remote or comprehensible match Before the multitude of Midianite fighters When Joseph saw great visions and dreams Of his greatness and his eyes started to gleam It seemed like a cruel, mean mocking joke When he fell into his bigger brothers’ bait Imprisoned by their treacherous hate

When young Shadrach, Mishach, Abednego To the boiling hot furnace were thrown It was sure that to cinders they would burn Elisha’s servant saw an army out to kill Trembling, he told Elisha he lost his warrior will Till Yahweh opened his spiritual eyes to see A Heavenly army glow on the field like gems Chariots of fire blazing in the unseen realm

We often view with human veiled eyes Robbing us of ethereal views of the wise Judging with sharp fractured thoughts We lose track of victories our God has fought Garbed in amnesiac memory and mind Where dusty trails of hopelessness we find Know God is doing behind scenes each day Far beyond what you can think or imagination

So let’s leave muddy trails of trickling thoughts Desert the fields where mind battles are fought Step in the streams of sweet spiritual surrender Where God becomes your joy and defender Because your trusting, anointed spiritual eyes Swings open locked doors to Heavenly Skies Where the invisible becomes tangible and visible And this is the wondrous realm of miracles!

Proverbs 3:5: Trust in the Lord with all your heart; And lean not on your own understanding.
