When Self Life is strong The Big I thrives on And Ego hardens to a stone Which is hard to break So hard, so insensitive To other people’s pains Nothing said or done Can make Ego shake No one can break Ego’s stubborn bones
Embedded in a river Like a big ugly stone It slows down and obstructs A river’s smooth flow Making life’s progress Miserable and slow
Ego, a stone, can trip on itself Falling down flat From its Ego heights Ego in the end can go nowhere Because it is stuck In the sands of despair
Humility is the powerful Antidote to ego It sets your life to flow Wherever it goes It has an unseen power That no one seems to know It can hit down ninepins in a row
Humility can break the stones of ego Like no other force can It is a language not understood Much by woman and man When Humility acts The unseen worlds see and tremble And stand in line in awe
Humility in action Can turn proud souls humble Shattering hard rocks Crumbing down with shock Humbleness is not weak As we humans often think Humility shakes, it breaks, it moulds Change happens, transformation. Lives change, situations change Beyond the periphery of natural range So let’s eat the antidote of ego And put on the mighty Cloak of Humility!
1 Peter 5:6: Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that He may lift you up in due time.
