Seek the One Who Fans Your Flames
We often use fire as a symbol when we find something stirs us deep in our emotions and there are times when we literally feel our soul burning.
Rumi said, “Seek thoses who fan your flames.” People also inspire us, and give us vision and set our hearts on fire.
As humans, we need a fire blazing in our hearts to give us hindsight, insight and vision, a purpose and a goal. There are many things that we cannot make happen, but they occur in appointed time. A wise woman told once told me that the fire comes once in our lives only and then the picnic is over! She was very wrong. We need fresh fire daily. If we live in the memory of old fires of yesterday, and old vcitories, our lives will die out and we will be limping along trying to make the best of old rags but really miserable in hearts. Each day, a new problem will rattle on our doors and without a fire in hearts, we can’t face it.
The best thing to do is seek the One and stay close to the One who fans the fire in our souls daily. When the fire blazes in our hearts, it burns out impurities, dirt and dross. All the rubbish in our souls will be burned up. The Divine One gives Light that emanates His glow and then we get a clear vision, and gain a purpose that is pure.
