Pride Goes Before Destruction – Jan 10

Pride Goes Before Destruction

Pride is a frightening thing. While it seems cruel, Herod in the Bible was struck by God’s glory and he died. The fullness of the glory of God Almighty is too powerful for humans to bear, and while God is Love, the power contained within the Almighty is like an atom bomb…when it blazes out, we cannot live in its presence in that fullness, we can only contain the gentleness of Love. Maybe the good thing is people die and live in Heaven and are able to be not struck down in that glory. Paul too was struck by His glory but Paul responded to God and he lived!

The power of glory is it strikes or builds because it is energized with Divine electricity.

When Paul was walking on the road to Damascus in Acts 9:1-15, he was overpowered and struck by Light which knocked him to the ground and struck him with blindness. No matter how high we climb, if our hearts darkened by hatred and revenge, pride and rage, a day comes to strike us down! We need it to control us on our tracks or we will get giddy with revenge.

When we are on a roller-coaster ride of some maddened feat, we are stopped on our tracks. The laws of the Universe grabs our attention. We hear the Voice and receive the Divine Light, which enables us to understand Divine Secrets.

We may need those glory strikes from Above to wake us up from deception, coldness, spiritual numbness, hardness, indifference etc.

If we don’t have the Light in us, we are in darkness. When angels said that all the Earth is full of God’s glory, it means that they manifest His light and life, being revelations of who He is and this keeps humans humble, and if not, pride will destroy people.
