Meditations on Hope Hope is that mighty piercing ray in the impossible black night that gives a go and glow. Hope always lives within us to spark life within to brighten our lives to hope for something greater. Hope is always ready to believe and believe and believe that the best yet to come. “Hope springs eternal in the human breast” quoted from Alexander Pope’s poem.
Hope is not a fool’s paradise when our hope is not placed in things and situations, but in God Almighty, who has the power to change situations and perform miracles. I Corinthians 2:9 “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” Seek God and you will find Him, and He will do great and wonderful things for the seeker. Jeremiah 33:3 ” Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.”
Hope rises in humans from the dusk to the dawn, that keeps us going on, that gives us purpose to believe and live. Hope is that glimmering star in the darkest night that radiates with promise, an anchor in a stormy windy night, when the boat is about to sink, water in a dry desert and Hope is an open swinging door to a whole new beautiful road ahead.
When Hope is shut out, the candle of Life grows dim and shuts off, and one descends to a dark dungeon living in gloom with no light, no glimmer, left to die alone with no ray of Hope. In sickness and health, deathbed and a new lease of life, through trials and times of rejoicing, hope is that shining dancing ray of light that pierces the soul with a warm mellow golden glow. Hope within us opens the door of faith, and the door of faith makes the impossible possible.
Hope is when we pray for loved ones believing that we will see them in Heaven one day, and when Heaven’s gates swing open, we will be amazed and delighted to see the most unexpected people in Heaven. Heaven has many surprises for all of us and we are no one’s judge. The Creator who loves the world will draw people to Himself in their last moments
Hope that the worst criminal can change gives loved one’s a golden glow within. Hope to escape from impending death gives the impetus to live with courage and a purity for a new lease of life.
Hope changes everything. I Corinthians 13:13 “And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.” Hope remains in the end, the very end, when Time on Earth’s clock dies, Hope remains in Eternity. May we learn to live with the sunrise of hope on every horizon in our lives.
Remember, our Valley of Achor (difficult place, hard time) turns into a Door of Hope.
