Last Moments #Poem, #Poetry #Nirbhaya, #murder, #rape

This happened in their last moments..sometimes, we wish we could turn back the clock and do things different….choices matter…..

Last Moments

Towards the end they were petrified Rivers of tears they perennially cried Regret rose but it was too late Lives that could have been right Through choices turned so wrong Pawan even did offer his organs Had eyes of innocence Strong and young

They committed it in a moment in time No water could wash out their crime They pleaded the mercy plea time and again Of course, these were attempts in vain

That night, the courts were wide awake And no one slept a wink at all that night Hearts hammering waiting for dawn light The four refused all food, tea and water Life grew larger than lust, food, and mortar

They wept and cried for mercy that night Fear crippled them to block a courageous fight The guards comforted them through the night watch They just kept crying and restlessly walked The prison staff did not sleep at all that night They all felt the four’s terror and plight

At that hour The hangman gazed at them with pity His skill would ensure their deaths less gritty Their necks had to snap with the three knots Or they would painfully die with agonized shock

In the thirty seconds after the noose was pulled Perhaps they felt cheated and fooled Terror engulfed them and they cried, And then their necks snapped and they died Nirbhaya got her justice, honor and bestowment I pray they called to God in their last moments I pray that others will never follow their path The price of all of this and last moments is too high Its not worth it all for a moment of lust
