The Risers!
Many times, women all over the world Through many cultures and ages Were hit by shame in disintegrating stages Wept in sinking shadows in fading light Regarded not as a precious unique person But a possession, property, obedient wife Were forbidden to be seen or heard Kept away from tables of mighty men Barred from men’s victory dens Voiceless, loveless without rights Horror and sorrow was their plight Broken and isolated in gray twilight They stumbled on in No Man’s stony land Bruising their feet on the burning sand
But now you are rising in faith O Women! Disentangling and freeing yourself from Old decaying ropes of restriction Of rejection, hate and dark depression Finding a new road to a gold-guided mission Rising up in strength to stronghold positions For much is to be accomplished In the busy teeming heady days ahead To rescue and revive the walking dead To throw out old ashes and crumbling coal To rise with a new blazing fire in your soul
To rise up in wings of faith to God’s destined great For time is short and it’s never too late Fresh hope glows starlight in your eyes Your world is opening beyond stormy skies Awaken and shine to the new glowing dawn! Your spirit is is always invincible and strong! You are a survivor, fighter, overcomer and warrior Beating all odds you win, for you are a riser
