Building A Prayer Life February 1 – Enter unto Throne of Grace

Building A Prayer Life – February Theme

Enter unto Throne of Grace

February 1

Hebrews 4:16:  Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

True prayer is a cry from the inner man; our spirits, to the Father.  People go through many rituals to gain the favor of God, bathing, ceremonies, incense sticks, etc. While outward preparation may help us to direct our lives prayerfully, in Christ, we have to know that our position of favor lies in our faith.

  1. Throne:  In Christ, we can come before the mercy seat of God without fear or trembling because the Blood of Jesus washes and cleanses our souls and appeases Divine justice.   His throne is pure, sparkling and holy.  When we enter this holy ground, sprinkled with the Blood of Christ, we come to a throne of favor, grace and mercy.

  2. Repentance: Repentance means change of heart and mind.  While mercy and grace are there at the throne, a person living in rage, anger, unforgiveness drowns out grace.  Why? Because God is pouring out mercy and grace unto us, so we should also follow the same rule of law to build synergy and harmony with His throne.  If we approach God’s throne rule full of hatred to others, it means we have not appropriated His forgiveness for ourselves on Christ’s sacrifice.  Divine law follows us in judgement and not grace.  Be humble, forgiving before you start praying.  Mark 11:25  “And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses.”

  3. Enter His courts with praise and thanksgiving.  If your heart is heavy, God understands, but as much as possible, before praying, enter with a spirit of praise, thanking Him and the Holy Spirit will take over your worship and prayer.

  4. We must pray to God in Spirit and Truth: This happens in surrender to Christ.  This way, our flesh lives die, ego crumbles, so that the Spirit can take over.  John 4:23:  23 But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship Him. Humans feel they need to pray at a temple or a shrine etc., in order to pray to God.  God is omnipresent and omniscient.  He know and can hear our prayers from anywhere. All we need to do is surrender and also invite the Holy Spirit to take over, so you will pray through the Holy Spirit and not through your natural mind which may make large demands only for self gain.  The sacrifice of the wicked is like dead works of stench and dirt.  Ask the Lord to cleanse you of any wrong heart attitudes before you pray.  A sincere prayer is God’s delight.  All God looks for is a sincere prayer from a forgiving heart.

Never fear His judgement for the fact you are praying to Him also reveals Your reverence for Him.  You may feel unworthy, unclean, but it is His throne of grace so He will pour out His grace on you. Come just as you are, as by throne of grace, God is bound to us by His promises. Ask and it shall be given you; seek and ye shall find; knock and it shall be opened unto you.” Enter the throne room to the throne of grace daily and receive His blessings upon you!
