What happens to a nation when the king is a dictator?
The King and the Land
Once, there was a peaceful beautiful land, rich and prosperous and were rising up in the world in many spheres. People lived in harmony and creativity. The Creator gave the gift of free choice to humans as He did not want them to be puppets and robots and with this gift, the people invented, made, developed and flourished as they had freedom of expression in all spheres. With freedom comes greater responsibility so the people never misused it . The Creator gave this gift of free choice as He wanted people to test their own hearts, to chose right from wrong and develop an innate ability in their souls to make the right choices and grow in maturity and wisdom. This gift was ingrained deeply..rooted in the hearts of His created people.
Around a century later, a new king arose. He was not happy with the freedom of expression the people had in the land. He especially disliked it when he or his ministers did something wrong and the people in the land spoke against it. He vehemently hated the freedom of the press and news and even tried to curb it, of no avail.”
One day he called his ministers and said “It is not good with such a great land as ours to have so much diversity, people with different cultures, and opinions. We need to unity the people and remove all this diversity, which is a cancer to our great land. We need unity to become powerful and great. Let us change the laws to make new laws to remove all this foolish freedom of expression the people have.”
Very soon new laws started to follow suite. People were thrown in prison for speaking their minds and other laws implemented to people had to be forced to say things they did not want as it went against their faiths. Vehement and malicious literature against other leaders with different opinions was spread around the nation and the people believed it. The vociferous new rule thronged on marching with militant force screaming in the name of loyalty to nationalism…
In this new wave of force and control, conflict started to build in some of the souls of the people of the land. Their souls started feeling trapped in a cage, like a bird who could no longer fly. Their creativity levels dropped and suddenly a new rise of anger arose. A few people started speaking out against the king and his ministers and the new laws.
With this conflict within, the majority were silent not sure what to believe, while others burst out and vocally expressed their outrage.
Then a new phenomenon started happening. Suddenly people who lived in peace for decades started fighting furiously with each other and many murders started to take place all over the country. The rise of rapes, violence, crime and vandalism rose in unprecedented measures because this negative energy in people released a lot of evil in the land. People who were bold enough to speak out against the wrongs were marked as rebels and punished, put in prison, and some just mysteriously disappeared. Soon the people became silent and repressed.
In silence, the country moved, no one speaking anymore, and the media reported false glorious reports of the nation everyday and spread it around the world. The king was his men were delighted. The country at last was united! The king and his ministers rejoiced.
Smoke in Hearts
The king and his ministers did not realize that the people were now deeply divided, torn and confused.. There was more hidden anger within and smoke was rising from many, many souls. They had lost their joy of living. Hatred rose on the rise each day. The artists, writers, lost their creativity. Inventors started to lose their originality and did things mechanically and creativity and inventions were lost in the woods.
An old wise man, with a crop of snowy white hair, dark bright eyes, and a hooked nose, Solo, watched this and shook his head, his eyes dulled with sadness that day as he said to the people in his town, “This is danger, this is the way dictators went, and they brought their nation down, I have seen this happen as I traveled and met people from different countries.
His young 20-year-old nephew, Moro asked anxiously, “What do we do uncle?”
Solo, the old man said slowly, “In this new wave of force and control, conflict started to build in some of the souls of the people of a nation. Their souls started feeling trapped in a cage, like a bird who could no longer fly. Now the people will lose their creativity and new anger will rise.”
As Solo said, Moro noticed that people started speaking out against the king and his ministers and the new laws. But many others were afraid.
One evening, the town in which Solo lived had a meeting and one of the men asked Solo, “Why are things going so bad, what can we do?”
Solo replied, “The king and his ministers did not realize that the people were now deeply divided, torn and confused.. There was more hidden anger within and smoke is rising from many, many souls. Now there is one group of angry people created by the dictator, they are manufactured. But there is going to be a rising that will defeat the manufactured people controlled by the dictator.”
The people in the town stared blankly at Solo and repeated, “Manufactured, and a rising?”
Solo replied, “”The present people controlling and attacking us and locking up our people are manufactured by the dictator, they do what the dictator says, but the dictator does not realize he created another group of people…watch it will happen.” he said. Then Solo was mysteriously silent. He said no more.
The Rising
A couple years went by. The dictator’s people hunted people out, reported them, put them in prison and restricted the freedom of speech and expression.
In a waste howling land, suddenly, in young hearts, the spirit of freedom and freedom of expression started to rise from deep within. It was a natural phenomenon following the laws of nature that the Creator put in the world.
These young people started to rise and shine amid the gloom and fresh thoughts began to rise from hearts that could never be killed or crushed even though now there was no media to invoke new thought. These people arose like an army across the land. They were thinkers, poets, philosophers and revolutionaries and as their thoughts rose up from within they met somewhere up in the air and mysteriously, these people began to connect together.
The dictator could not see it and was unaware of this undercurrent throughout the country. Now, a light started to shine again, hope started to pierce the darkness of the land, people rose again, united in a new fight, a fight for truth and freedom of expression. This grew in an ocean of unity flowing through the land with power and force. He thought he was dividing them, but slowly were uniting, but the country was still divided as people became very opinionated.
The Enemy:
Unknown to all, across the border, an enemy was watching and the king told his people rubbing his hands with glee, “Glad to see our neighbors fighting, divided, weak, and now muzzled. This gives us leverage to attack!” The others nodded in agreement and started plotting an attack.
One night while all were asleep, the nation awoke in shock to the sound of fighter planes dropping bombs over their nation! In a moment of time, the nation suddenly united because when the enemy attacks from outside, people wake up from inside.
Wake up Oh People of the nation and stop your petty bickering before the enemy from outside hits you down! Don’t wait for a tragedy before you wake up!
Prosperity and developed transpires in an atmosphere where freedom of thought and expression is abundant. The truth is when freedom of expression is given to humans, they actually bond better with other people in the land, thrive, grow and develop in their diversity of thought, but when a law striving to bring unity of thought is enforced, it brings division and dissent. In fact, that country can fall more easily because of the internal rage within. This brings deeper division among the communities. Freedom of expression is the natural course of nature and if denied, anarchy is birthed because the natural course of nature was suppressed and crushed.” You cannot crush a soul for years. You cannot crush a soul forever. It will die or it will rebel.
THE EXPRESSION OF FREEDOM IS SYNCHRONOUS WITH LIFE AS IT IS THE VERY GIFT OF THE CREATOR TO US…If we take it away, we are fighting with the Creator! This is not the Creator’s design for people to live in chains without freedom of expression or to be unified in false unity, but to be the person who the Creator created them to be, to realize their potentials and grow in that.
Of course, freedom of expression does not give people the right to move by whim and fancy doing anything they want with no regard to others. A great reverence sensitivity to others arises out of our freedom of expression and speech. With greater responsibility comes greater accountability and with that freedom, one should make the choice to do right and never harm or hurt others. If not, this evolves into a new dictatorship in another form. As we want freedom of expression, mutually, we need to pour that unto others in fairness and grow together dispelling hatred. God treats us with sensitivity and grace giving us freedom of expression and we should now pass that on that lamp..all around the world!
